West District Representation 2009

Congratulations to the following players who have been selected to play for West District!!

GB REPRESENTATION

Five Scots, including two women and three men, have been listed to compete for Team GB in hockey at the fifth Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF) in Sydney in January. GHK are ecstatic to say that our very own Amy Gibson is one of these lucky players! Huge congratulations to Gibson - we are very proud of you! DISTRICT REPRESENTATION

GHK Hockey Club had 5 members representing the West District at the above tournament.

Jenny Jonhstone, Amy Liu and Lucy Taylor were in the West U18 team and Jenny Morris and Kathryn Kerr were in the West Under 16 team. Jenny Morris had the additional honour of being the U16's Vice Captain.
 
West are traditionally one of the strongest teams in the tournament so it is a great achievement to be selected for such a talented district.
 
The weekend brings together the most talented players in Scotland and the girls did GHK proud. The Under 18's finished in 2nd place just behind East and  the U16's won their tournament without losing a game.
 
Special congratulations must go to Jenny Johnstone, Amy Liu and Jenny Morris who have been selected for Scotland trials on the back of the weekend.
