Tomek has provided some basic fitness training for all players. As ever, these types of exercises should only be done where you have checked (as necessary) with an appropriate medical advisor. Appropriate footwear/clothing required.

Following a request by some players who train on Thursday evenings Tomek has prepared a basic trainnig programme for players to improve their fitness over the Summer. Please see health notice above.  These would be appropriate for all players. The times and patterns can be increased as fitness improves.  Please note: 1st and 2nd XI players would be expected to be training at a higher level than this. 

Please note, all parts are supposed to be carried out for one session.  (For example: not just parts three or six!)

Basic Training Programme

Part one: 20min jog.

Part two: Sprints: 10 times the following:

  • 20 sec sprint: it should be about 90m which is length of the hockey pitch
  • 40 sec off which is a rest time.

Part three: 2-5 min break.

Part four: Sprints: 10 times the following:

  • 20 sec sprint: it should be about 90m which is length of the hockey pitch
  • 40 sec off which is a rest time.

 Part five: Circuits:

  • planks 3x 10sec
  • squats 3x 15sec
  • press up's 3x 10 times
  • lunges 3x 15 sec.

Part six: stretching to warm down.
